Humans divided themselves into specializations as we see in society imposed by limitations such as time, costs per time on tasks. I can’t be a lawyer, doctor and engineer at once. That’s pretty insane. I can’t do back to back either, that’s insane too, but few sorta do it a bit. AI agents generalize far better than humans in some ways. They are not bound by these limitations, but there are different ones.
I’ve spent the last the years building in AI. I would have laughed off if someone mentioned me back then that the world would be where it is today. It’s incredible to be living at the cutting edge of another revolution that it surely in progress.
I grew up interacting with computers as machines that I can instruct. TV, radio and phone were the other major devices I grew up with. They did exactly the same thing when you press a button, except when there’s no electricity or someone broke it, or you misinterpreted.
Web 2.0 made machines interactive and communicative mediums, but we now have intelligent machines. Computing is going to be intensional. You’ll see on your screen what you are going to need, hopefully. You are not going to ask for it, unfortunately.
The tools we’re now building and interacting are so different that it’s resetting my fundamental assumptions of interactions with computers. That’s leading to some interesting discussions with people.
