One of the things I’m finding, re: message of the medium of blygging, is that most of the time I don’t want to title my thoughts. The titled vs untitled distinction may be more psychologically fundamental than thread vs fragment. Both can be titled or untitled, though I think there is some correlation between threads and titles. I think adding a title adds functional fixedness to a thought, declaring it to be “For X” and subtly suppressing associations to “not X”

I suspect in general you don’t want to title things you expect to transclude. Leaves them stem-celly. Stem-celliness is a big theme in blygger design ethos. Don’t make things mean things until the last possible moment, and only if you have to.

I struggle to title. Similarly naming URLs is a struggle too, and I prefer hashed IDs instead just for that reason. Apple Notes begins with a title but I was relieved knowing that can be turned off in preferences. Never made sense why blogs ask for a title. It should be optional, either the heading on the first line going by markdown syntax or not. Titles block the stream of consciousness. It's much for fun to pick a title around a set of theme that emerge after writing the first version. I noticed, my second or third version would only include a subset of concepts from my first version, and from there title becomes a bit more obvious for me, or I these days ask AI.
