I think Matthieu Queloz and Pierre Beckmann's recent claim that AI are polyphonic systems here, here and here are likely a reasonable explanation of why AI as editing partner feels {misaligned, misguided, disoriented} (need better words) to me. They say talking to an AI is like talking to many people with different points of view and opinions at once.

There were times when AI surfaced expressions that were holding back in my mind, and it was pretty cool to witness. There were also times I had seen my point of view evaporating in editing, and not being sure whether it's sycophancy like behavior.
